등장 배경

1. Model1
   • Web Service 초기 개발 모델이다.
   • JSP, Seblet 내에서 데이터베이스를 핸들링한다.
   • 구조가 복잡해 질 수록 유지보수가 기하급수적으로 어려워 진다.
2. Model2
   • MVC 모델을 도입
   • DAO, EJB을 이용해 데이터베이스에 접근한다.
   • 객체 단위의 개발이 가능해 졌다.
   • MyBatis 같은 프레임워크가 등장했다.
   • 객체지향 적으로 설계되지 않은 데이터베이스들 덕분에 이해하기 힘든 구조를 가지게 되었다.

데이터베이스에 대한 객체적인 접근을 하려는 요구와 반복 적인 SQL 쿼리 요청 코드나 SQL 에 의존 적인 코딩에서 벗어나고자 하는 목적으로 인해 ORM이라는 개념이 등장하게 됬다고 생각하면 될것이다.

  • 직관적인 코드를 작성할수 있다.
  • 부수적인 코드가 급격히 줄어든다.
  • SQL의 절차적인 접근이 아닌 객체 지향적 접근으로 코드를 이해하기 쉽다.
  • 작성된 객체들을 재사용 하기 쉽다.
  • DBMS에 종속적이지 않다.
• 단점
  • 기존 SQL 문을 변경하기에는 많은 자원이 소모 된다.
  • 설계가 복잡해 질 경우가 있다.
  • 복잡한 구조의 테이블 관계를 구현하기 까다롭다.
  • 성능 튜닝이 필요한 경우도 있다.

Overview

기존의 데이터베이스 엔진으로 SQL 문을 사용하여 이름을 알아내는 방법이다.

ORM으로 접근한 방법이다.

코드가 훨신 간단하며 객체에서 값을 뽑아 내는 것 처럼 사용할 수 있다.

JAVA ORM Frameworks

• ActiveJDBC
